We love making promises. We make them when we get very sick, when someone close to us dies, when we get married and on New Year’s Eve. We mean well when we make them, but then life gets in the way...

Have you ever suffered from coulda, woulda, shoulda? I have many times in my life until I got “sick and tired of being sick and tired” about being coulda, woulda and shoulda. This is why I created LifeInsureAssure.com.

This family mission/vision project was built to support you and your loved ones so that you can create and have the life of your dreams. It’s your family's business plan designed to keep your loved ones productive, efficient and free of financial worry.

But before you get started, you must have a clear Vision and a Family Mission Statement.

“A family mission statement is a combined, unified expression from all family members of what your family is all about and what it is ready to do and be and the principles you choose to govern your family life,” Stephen Covey wrote in his book, called "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families."

Vision Statement: Where you are going, your end game.
Mission Statement: The steps you will take to achieve your vision. Your vision statement is about YOUR core values.

Vision questions can include:
  • Do you want children and how many?
  • Will you need one or two incomes to support them?
  • How long do you want to provide for them; to college, through college, to their first job, to marriage, to birth of last child or forever?
  • Do you have any traditions you want to keep or create for your family?
  • Will parents have individual or joint roles? What are role expectations, strengths and weaknesses of the couple? Who will control money? Who will make financial decisions? Who will make purchasing decisions? And who will make parenting decisions?
  • How important is risk management, health insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, homeowner’s insurance, auto insurance, excess liability insurance and business or malpractice insurance?
  • How will you allocate your net income, fixed expenses, variable expenses, debt repayment, risk management insurance policies, college funding, retirement, savings, future purchases?
  • What should you protect? The more you have to protect, the more you need to look at this budget item.
  • What are high risk/high probability items? Ensure the risks that will hurt you the most.

Your Mission Statement is about your commitment to your core values. If I asked you what you can accomplish in the next 50 years, what would your answer be?

Once you have clear answers to the questions above, you'll be ready to start planning your financial future and grow your wealth. And if you need any help, I am just a phone call away:
